Hi. My names is James Ratliff. I am the great grandson of Roy and Melvina Ward. In his line one of my Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Grandfathers is a man from Sussex County Delaware who settled in Augusta Virginia and was born in 1723. This man though was married to a Naomi Cravens when he and she were both 22 years old. She had one daughter that year and would die less than three years afterward. Naomi Cravens was his wife and their daughter is Jane Cravens Ward who married David Ward. Because of his first wife's untimely death, I assume Joseph remarried and had the other children listed. There is little doubt as to whether this is the same Joseph Craven(s) born in Sussex County Delaware and who was an early settler of Augusta County Virginia. I would love to know if anyone knows if their were attacks or what would have been the cause of death of Naomi and any real documentation that would link this person further to the unlisted child who is my grandmother 8 times removed.
