City Directory listings [28 July 2014]

I came across this page when reviewing recent edits and found the story interesting. I found the following entries in Tulsa, Oklahoma (not Tuscon) City Directories:

1914 Tulsa, Oklahoma City Directory: Austin, Adele (wid Joseph) bkpr City Supply Co r 839 N Main.

1917 Tulsa, Oklahoma City Directory: Austin Adele (wid Joseph) stenogr J E Crosbie r 716 N Main.

1918 Tulsa, Oklahoma City Directory: Austin Adele (wid Joseph) bkpr H F Wilcox r 716 N Main.

1924 Tulsa, Oklahoma City Directory: Austin Adele (wid Jos). bkpr Consolidated P L Co, r 712 S Cheyenne av --Jennifer (JBS66) 01:10, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Ah, that was probably a typo on my part (I kept thinking Tuscon Arizona for some reason). I'll confirm with the family member who told me the story. And I will look into Oklahoma references you mention as I have time, thanks!--Ktaustin2 01:19, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

I noticed one more thing in the city directories. In 1913, there was a Joseph listed:

1913 Tulsa, Oklahoma City Directory: Austin Joseph lab rms [rooms] 106 1/2 S Boston av. Adele is not mentioned in 1913 directory.

1914 dir (see above), Adele mentioned as Austin Adele (wid Joseph) There is no Joseph listed separately in 1914.

The addresses are not the same in 1913-1914, so that does not provide conclusive proof the 1913 Joseph is Adele's husband. --Jennifer (JBS66) 11:18, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
