Looking for information on John Henry Voss b about 1790 in Charleston, SC.

John had a brother Andrew Voss 1796-1884 and a sister Ann Sophia Voss b about 1790,

and 1 half sister Maria E Voss b 1805 in Philadelphia. They were the children of Andrew Voss 1755-1806 of SC and Philadilphia, PA.

John Henry Voss signed a deed in SC in about 1820 and stated his residence as Nashville,

but the state wasn't written. Where could this Nashville be, what state?
