Two John Goodrichs here? [8 April 2012]
Two sets of parents, a bunch of marriages, sort of looks like two contemporary John Goodrichs got merged. --jrm03063 13:28, 8 April 2012 (EDT)
- Since both pre-merge pages had same marriage, same birth date and same death date, the other conclusion is that they are the same person and the problems you refer to are data simply attached to the wrong page or mistakes. - "Raising a red flag" doesn't really help since the only thing that can be done to fix this page is buckle down and do the research to find out what all these mistakes refer to. That has been done now. Suffice it to say that the extra set of parents and the 3 extra wives should have all been attached to other pages, all of which existed prior to the merge. - I wasn't aiming the red flag at you - nor anyone in particular! It was thinking out loud at a time when I wasn't immediately in a position to do the needed evaluation - and didn't want to lose track of the situation. It could as easily have been a reminder for myself! That all said - I appreciate your work on getting the better sources in there. I went through at about the same time you were working and started teasing things apart to make them roughly consistent with Savage (in spite of your love of that source) since it's far better than nothing and seemed a more reasonable initial statement of the facts than we had. In any case, when Savage is wrong, that's something I want to definitely know about and track - so there was nothing to lose. --jrm03063 09:40, 9 April 2012 (EDT)
