Wrong John [11 February 2010]

Court records in Washington County and later Russell County Va, place John Cowan, heir at law to Samuel Cowan, successively in Greene, Knox, and Blount County TN. I suppose its possible he could have moved in old age to Indiana, but this is very unlikely. I believe the source for the John Cowan in Montgomery Co INdiana, is in error. So are you saying that the John Cowan that married Margaret Weir and Anna Maxwell that died in Indiana is a different John Cowan that was born in Rockbridge? The Genealogy Trails article seems to tie-it all together.....
