Unsubstantiated information [25 October 2010]

The Ancestral File (AFN: 4JFL-3K) gives a birth date of 15 Oct 1613 (Norwich, Norfolk, England) and a christening date of 11 Aug 1611 (St. George Cole Gate, Norwich, Norfolk, England) - both of which obviously cannot be true. There does not seem to be any published information on his origin, other than a 1916 book (Abbe-Abbey Genealogy) which speculates that he may have been from Northamptonshire.

Therefore, I am removing his birth information, other than an estimate of his birth year based on his approximate age at death. This includes removing the identification of his father as John Abbe, which seems to come from the Ancestral File and is probably based on the christening information which cannot be linked to the immigrant John Abbe. (The Ancestral File identifies the father as being born in Lincolnshire, which is suspicious in itself.) --DataAnalyst 23:27, 24 October 2010 (EDT)
