Person talk:Johanna Mol (5)

[5 June 2013]

Henk,

I see you found my page with my (n'th great) uncle Lammert Dekker's second wife Johanna Mol. Can you find anything which would clarify how they met, where his first wife died, where he and Johanna were married, and where Jacob and Mary were born? I'm stumped; I can find no trace of them after Jannetje dies and they evidently leave Annapaulownapolder, Zijpe until I see them in Michigan. --Pkeegstra 06:47, 5 June 2013 (EDT)

Hi, I will but Lidewij beats me :-): she knows a lot about the Mol family !!

I can't see her link, it says "Article not found; You are not authorised to view this resource". Do I need an account at ZeeuwenGezocht? --Pkeegstra 09:27, 5 June 2013 (EDT)

strange I can You don't need an account though --henk 09:28, 5 June 2013 (EDT)

OK, I searched for "Johanna Mol" using the known date for Jacob and I found van Wijngen. So what does this mean? Is Stoffel van Wijngen her first husband, so that she married Lammert in Michigan? But then why do both Mary and Jacob name Lammert as their father? (Jacob on his death certificate and Mary in her marriage register, both in Grand Rapids.) --Pkeegstra 09:42, 5 June 2013 (EDT)
I think the children were adopted at the wedding. Groetjes, --Lidewij 09:59, 5 June 2013 (EDT)

Pkeegstra, Better this move to your talk page (I'm after now, of line)--Lidewij 10:05, 5 June 2013 (EDT)--henk 10:13, 5 June 2013 (EDT)

Many thanks to both Henk and Lidewij on this! Now that the marriage record has been located, I do believe the children were adopted at the wedding. I've seen this before in my tree with Rynie and Effie Wiersma, whose birth name was Koens. I set up their pages with the birth name as primary, so I suppose the thing to do is to be consistent and handle these the same way. --Pkeegstra 17:14, 5 June 2013 (EDT)
