I started looking at the Hollis family in depth when I saw their address in Windsor.
Fifty years ago I lived on Victoria Street in Windsor, so I know it well. A few facts that might interest you:
1. William Street Independent Chapel is still there under the name William Street United Reformed Church. It was just around the corner from Victoria Street.
2. If street numbers stayed the same for a century, numbers 51 and 53 were demolished around 1970 and replaced by a 5-storey car park (or parking lot). I lived at 61A which is still there.
3. Park Place, Sheet Street (home of Jesse Hollis in 1851) was located near the grounds of Windsor Castle. I looked through the images for that registration district in 1851 and found the first name was the Duchess of Kent, Queen Victoria' mother (who had more than 30 servants at Frogmore House).
4. Clewer, where John L Hollis was living in 1871-1901 is a western suburb of Windsor.
5. I have added another son of Jesse Hollis, George Consin Hollis. I found him in 1861 because John Dove Hollis's wife was visiting him and his family in Islington, "north London" (officially Middlesex at that date).
