Missing References to Mother [19 January 2014]

Why do we have birth, marriage, and death records for Jennie Vanderwall Roberts all 3 of which list her father as Henry Vanderwall but don't list her mother.

As it turns out, there were two people named Heine/Henry Vanderwall in Wyoming, Michigan:

• Person:Heine van der Wal (1)
• Person:Heine van der Wal (2)

The former appears to be the father of Jenny; she is living with him and his wife in the 1900 census.

Henry/Heine did in fact have a first marriage in 1874. And there is evidence that Janna Pomstra travelled to Michigan in April, 1876. Which is too early for her to already be pregnant, so Heine must have been with her, returned, and made another trip in 1880.
