Conflicting birth dates [18 April 2022]

The 1860 census says born about 1786 in Virginia. 1820 census indicates born 1776-1794 1830 and 1840 census say born 1781-1790

Court document pertaining to Iowa land claim in 1855 says he was 69 years old at the time i.e. born 1786

"Portrait and Biographical Record of Jasper, Marshall and Grundy Counties, Iowa" pg 663 indicates he was born 1781

Alternatively, the 1850 census indicates he was born about 1770. Find A Grave indicates he was born 1774 (87 when he died in 1862) but where this age and death date come from is unclear as the only thing legible in the photo of the gravestone is his name

His mother Mourning's census records indicate she was born abt 1763 in VA (according to 1850 census, or 1761-1770 according to 1830 census)
