Jim, I believe Jacob van Meter m Letitia Stroud was the uncle of Jacob van Meter m Isabella Evens, son of Abraham and Ruth.

Hi Scot, I show the Jacob Van Meter that married Leticia Strode WAS the Uncle of Jacob that married Isabella Evans. The elder Jacob was the brother of Abraham Van Metre that married Ruth Hedges. I believe you had the wrong marriage date for Jacob Van Meter and Leticia? I checked the birth dates for Leticia's parents and she could not have been old enough to marry in 1728. Let me know if you have sources to the contrary.

Jim, It seems I entered her birth date by mistake in the marriage date field. It should have been 30 Aug 1741. I am only mildly interested in these folks, my concern was that the 2 Jacobs had been merged. Born March 1723 in Somerset Co., N.J. Letitia Stroud Van Meter, his wife, 1725-1799 married in Virginia, 1741. Jacob married Letitia STROUD daughter of James STRODES (STROUD) in 1741. Letitia was born on 30 Aug 1725. She died on 25 Dec 1799. Notes Reference : WHO IS WHO IN HARDIN COUNTY, Compiled a nd Prepared by Hardin County Historical Society.

Ok, I think most of it is in agreement now since I merged the two duplicate families together, although it appears that Letitia Stroud's father was Edward (some called him Edward James) Stroud....

Jim, I removed "of South Branch, Potomac River, VA" from the title field and opened a residence field for it as it is really not a title. Also it appears to not be a proper place name as the system changed it to "South Branch, Ogemaw, Michigan, United States"--Scot 15:28, 21 May 2010 (EDT)

Ok, I added it as an "Alt Name" instead. I've added this type of information to the title field before, and I've never seen it changed by the system.... oh well, if you see any others like this, I'd appreciate it if you would move it to the "Alt Name" field instead of just deleting it, I use some of these to differentiate between people with same/similar names in different locations.
