Jesse Ripple and the Jacob's before and after. [15 May 2012]

My father's name was George M. Ripple, my Grandfather's name was George W. Ripple, my GreatGrandfather's name was Jacob Ripple in Sullivan County, Indiana. I have census through 1900 showing Jacob Ripple, his wife Hannah and their two sons Harrison Ripple and George W. Ripple. I have a copy of Jacob's death certificate and luck be have it, showing his father's name Jesse M. Ripple. Jacob and Hannah were servants of the Harrison French family. The small town they lived near or in was Riverton, IN. It's located on the Wabash River just southwest of Sullivan and just across the river is Palestine, Crawford County, IL. I have been stymied in obtaining documentation connecting Jacob and Mary Ripple to Jesse M. Ripple. The Sullivan County Court House burned to the ground around 1850. The only research I find is a Melinda Ripple, no doubt, Jesse's sister. She married a Benjamin Sanford. You find Jesse and Melinda living in close proximity of each other in a couple of census. 1870 Crawford County Census for one. I have copies from the Robinson, Illinois archives marriage certificates, showing Jesse with 4 spouses. This has made it difficult to decipher who's children are who's. I'm pretty much certain that you have it pegged that Elizabeth Watson Ripple is my GG Grandmother. I am almost certain that Jesse named his son Jacob after his father Jacob. I have more information and would love to get in touch to swap information.--Hillside8788 18:22, 15 May 2012 (EDT)
