[add comment] [edit] Using sources [27 September 2022]There is no need to use more than one source if the facts in the source cover more than one detail. For example, if you have obtained the address and the occupation from one census, you do not need to quote the census or its reference twice. The occupation and the address can go in one description box in the events area. These description boxes are "elastic" in their length. Although you may want to give the groom's address at the time of marriage on his own "Person" page, most marriage facts should be on the "Family" page. The large box under each source is meant to house the facts within the source, e.g. all the people in the house at the time of the census with their ages, relationships, occupations and birthplaces. Using the directions "copy" and "paste", you can repeat the details from one person on the list to another. I now add the description "not with family" when a child is missing on, say, the 1861 census, but was there in 1851. You may find out what happened to the child at a later date, but meanwhile you have told other researchers the facts that you know. If you have any other questions about WeRelate's method of setting up data, don't be afraid to ask. Regards --Goldenoldie 16:08, 27 September 2022 (UTC) |
