Person talk:Henry Bagenall (1)

The earlier edit of this Person page located his death at Blackwater in Wexford - the only Place page called Blackwater in Ireland. However, the location of Henry's death, at the Battle of Yellow Ford, was on the Armagh - Monaghan border at 54.384,-6.945, not in Wexford.

The attempt to create the site of this battle as a place in the place hierarchy doesn't observe current custom - which restricts places to political subdivisions and places of interment. In cases of battle deaths I think you are just as well served using the best available existing place and, in the description field, a reference to the battle. If you have an unusually well defined location (perhaps GPS coordinates - as might happen for American Civil War battles) the description should use the google maps template. Dallan's code for figuring out where a fact occurred, and placing it on appropriate maps, will defer to the value given by that template IF it is found in the description field for a fact. --Jrm03063 17:52, 24 April 2011 (EDT)
