[add comment] [edit] Census Entries [11 July 2014]Hi I hope you don't mind my editing your census entries. WeRelate is set up in a wiki-type html language which doesn't recognize tabs and new lines. It will recognize a new line if you tell it to with a <br> at the beginning of the line. It does recognize an empty line between paragraphs. It is possible to make a table, but it is very involved and I don't recommend it for a first venture into html. Putting commas (and an occasional word of explanation) between the facts on a census form is simpler. You can put these census entries into the box below a source and tie the source to the facts in the lines above. The little red question marks will turn into references to footnotes if, say, you put S1 in the source box just below the birth line and then, in the sources boxes below, you enter the data to tell where you found the date and the place the person was born. Call them all "My Source" to begin with. In my "new learning days" on WR I printed off the FAQs and kept them beside me. Sometimes they are written by people who forget that not everyone knows as much about a topic as they do. But sometimes they are very informative. All the best. --Goldenoldie 11:22, 11 July 2014 (UTC) |
