Alt Names [31 December 2015]

As i understand the system, there is no need to repeat the Surname in the Alt Name section.

When you do, only the combination is valid. If you don't, the Givenname is combined with every single Surname. Perhaps i am wrong, but this is how i understand the workings of the WR system.

Let me investigate. It looks like Google will not pick up a fully specified alt name anyways, which is a disappoitment. --pkeegstra 01:52, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Thinking about it for a while, inspired by ongoing conversations especially with JRich, I would suggest as a best practice listing alt names explicitly and providing citations for each of them. If there did happen to be a 3x3 or larger grid of combinations of forename and surname, I would just list the most common ones or perhaps 5 which delimit all the possibilities. --pkeegstra 14:29, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
