Comments left by DataAnalyst: Records for the older children, including Eliza, indicate that the mother's name was Martha Barber, and the only records found online for a Martha Barber born in Suffolk around the right time are for one baptized 9 Jun 1793 in Fressingfield and one baptized 9 Jun 1794 in Kelsale (both with parents named James and Elizabeth Barber). Fressingfield is about 15 miles closer to Weybread than Kelsale is, so it isn't uneasonable to assume that the Fressingfield Martha is the one who married Charles Harper. The 1841 census gives her age as 40, implying she was born about 1801, but her age at death (57, as cited) implies she was born about 1789. It is possible that Martha had a child at 51 (unusual but not impossible), or it is possible that Harriett was actually a grandchild (possibly illegitimate), or it is possible that this was a different Martha who was born about 1801 and her age at death is incorrect.
