Hoogwelgeboren Heer [16 November 2010]

Jennifer: This is the way you should address this man in old times, but it's not part of his title or 'predicaat'. Jonkheer does it.--Klaas (Ekjansen) 12:41, 16 November 2010 (EST)

What exactly does Hoogwelgeboren Heer mean? Is Google translate correct that it is High Well Born Lord? I can remove this from his page, thank you for the clarification! --Jennifer (JBS66) 12:46, 16 November 2010 (EST)
In Holland it was usual till the sixties (about 1968) to address your letters with these kinds of 'aanrede', a Professor was a weledelzeergeleerde heer and 'normal' people at least geachte heer. Nowadays I don't think that it's used in general anymore. Also the still used English: 'Her Highness' is not really part of the title.--Klaas (Ekjansen) 12:56, 16 November 2010 (EST)
