research notes [18 September 2013]
- I think his parents were Willam (William) Schouten and Meretje Schutt, but I have nothing to prove this. If anyone can help with this generation on back, I would appreciate it
- Schoutens of Half Moon Township, Saratoga County, NY. I believe that I am a descendent of Uriah Schouten, circa 1770 (possibly a son of Andrew, circa 1750). Uriah was believed to be married to Elizabeth Bennett (possibly a daughter of Henry Bennett- also a resident of the Township or surrounding area).
