Carlton in Yorkshire [22 December 2013]

There are at least 5 places named Carlton or Carleton in Yorkshire. Yorkshire used to be divided into the West Riding, the North Riding and the East Riding. In 1974 the West Riding was divided into West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and a section that joined up with the North Riding to make North Yorkshire.
