Parents of Eliza Duncan

There are two "John Duncan" families in SWV during the early settlement period. One family tended to use the "Dunkin" spelling of the surname, and settled in the Holston watershed. The other John Duncan settled on the Clinch, near modern Dungannon Virginia. See:

Person:John Dunkin (2) lived on both the Clinch and Holston watersheds, but seems to be mostly associated with the Holston. Lived his final days near Abingdon.

Person:John Duncan (31) is known to have had a daughter whose name has not come down to us. Could conceivably be Mary Duncan.

Person:John Dunkin (2) did not apparently have a daughter Mary, though its always possible that she may not have been captured in the records examined todate.
