[add comment] [edit] Possible Children from First Marriage [15 July 2015]"Michigan, Death Certificates, 1921-1952," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/KF3F-PF8 : accessed 26 Jun 2014), Helen Oosterhouse, 09 Jun 1924; citing Paris, Kent, Michigan, United States; 01631; FHL microfilm 1972810. The record for her 1891 marriage lists Dina's first married name as "Eleveld", which is a name attested in Drenthe. (Two candidate Jacobs, one 1824 in Gasselte, the other 1825 in Meppel. The latter has a death record in 1828; the former neither a marriage record nor a death record.) Two other children of Dina and her first husband list his name as K. or Koos, possibly originally Koop, as here. So it may not be Jacob. (One can imagine Koop becoming Americanized to Jacob.) "Michigan, Marriages, 1868-1925," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NQW9-MRL : accessed 26 Jun 2014), Albert Teerman and Mary Eleveld, 24 Mar 1888; citing Graafschap, Allegan, Michigan, v 1 p 13 rn 168, Department of Vital Records, Lansing; FHL microfilm 2342482. "United States Census, 1900," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MS95-7CS : accessed 02 Sep 2013), Egbert Tripp in entry for Derle Wolters, 1900. Dina is living by herself in Laketown, but lists herself as married. "United States Census, 1900," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M91D-T59 : accessed 15 July 2015), Dina Frip, Laketown township, Allegan, Michigan, United States; citing sheet 5B, family 104, NARA microfilm publication T623 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 1,240,698. Dina's death certificate lists her as married, as expected since she dies in Apr 1908 and Egbert in Oct 1908. Looks like the classic non-divorce..... --pkeegstra 10:59, 15 July 2015 (UTC) |
