From Deborah Hills (3): Not the wife of John Pemberton [20 July 2010]

Source:Hills, William Sanford. Genealogical Data Relating to the Ancestry and Descendants of William Hills, the English Emigrant to New England in 1632, and, p. 76, says that Joseph Hills by deed 5 Oct 1676 conveyed an estate in trust for "Deborah, the wife of John Pemberton of Malden". This has led to people assuming that Deborah was his daughter. But the Source:Corey, Deloraine P. Births, Marriages and Deaths in the Town of Malden, Massachusetts, 1649-1850, clearly showed that his daughter Deborah died in 1662. Since there are other situations where he could be holding an estate in trust (guardian for example), some other explanation than it being his daughter must be looked for. --Jrich 00:25, 21 July 2010 (EDT)
