Parents & birth record [12 August 2013]

Jennifer, I finally got around to looking at the wonderful information you sent regarding my grandfather, Cornelis Keuzenkamp. It took some time to understand just what you sent, but with the help of Google Translate I was able to decipher pretty much everything. How kind of you to take the time to send it, especially the photo of his birth certificate. Is that from the Rotterdam City Archives? Best, Frank--Frank 17:51, 9 August 2013 (EDT)

The site http://rotterdam.digitalestamboom.nl/search.aspx?app_route=8&lang=en is a searchable index for records. Then, I go to FamilySearch to locate the original scanned document. The website http://genver.nl makes locating the scans easier. The sources on WR for these follow the format gemeente, province, Netherlands. Burgerlijke Stand. So, you would source his birth certificate to Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. Burgerlijke Stand akte 5251.
Here is another document you might enjoy: http://rotterdam.digitalestamboom.nl/scan.aspx?book=R&id=713961. It is the Bevolkingsregister for Pieter Keuzenkamp. There are two sides to this - you can advance to the next by clicking on Volgende. The Bevolkingsregisters are available from rotterdam.digitalestamboom as well and are sourced on WR as Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. Bevolkingsregister.
I specialize in Dutch research, so I sometimes become curious about new Dutch pages entered on WR :) If you have any questions about Dutch resources, don't hesitate to ask! --Jennifer (JBS66) 09:43, 12 August 2013 (EDT)

Thanks for the great references. I'm going through them and adding each to my list of research resources. The poplulation register for Cornelis was very interesting and helpful, too. The language barrier makes it hard for me to find documents like that, so I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. I also see you've corrected some of the Dutch names for me. Thanks! And it's good to know you specialize in Dutch research - I suspected as much given your interests and input! :-)--Frank 12:12, 12 August 2013 (EDT)
