Person talk:Charles Errington (1)

Watchers

Charles Errington was actually Alfred Charles Errington, born 1864 near Bendigo, Victoria Australia. He married Margaret Wood in Yarragon, Victoria in 1890 and died in Malvern, Victoria in 1944. As well as Olive Eillien, Alfred and Margaret had another daughter, Madge Eileen, born in Melbourne, Australia in 1910.

Alfred Charles Errington's parents were Thomas Forbes Errington and Elizabeth Anne Reid, who married in 1865 in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia.

Thomas Errington's parents were Henry Errington (born 19 February 1801 in London, christened 2 March 1801 at St Paul's Church, Covent Garden, London, and Jane Forbes, born about 1809 in Aberdeen, Scotland. Henry was a convict, transported from London to Tasmania in 1821 for having forged bank notes in his possession (he was one of a group of about 8 others who were convicted with him). Jane Forbes was a free settler who went to Tasmania in 1833. Henry and Jane had 3 children, Thomas Forbes Errington (1837), Sarah Jane Errington (1839), and Isabella Errington (1841). In about 1849 the family came to Victoria.

Thomas and Isabella certainly have living descendants in Australia, but I have not yet been able to locate living descendants of Sarah Jane.
