Watchers

Small places in Canada [22 December 2019]

I made a note under Catherine's older sister, about Barna.

I am a Canadian but have lived in England for more that 50 years and my knowledge on Canadian geography is not as good as it might have been it I had stayed "home". Millerdale and Udona both troubled me.

I found Millerdale in Wikipedia and discovered the nearest place we have in the WeRelate gazetteer is Coleville, so I used it and put Millerdale in the description box.

Udona was more difficult and the meaning of the abbreviation BD escapes me. I knew of Udora and found it in what was Georgina township in York County. This area was tranferred to Durham Region in 1974 as was Sunderland which is fairly nearby, although previously in the County of Ontario (within Ontario province). (My ancestors lived further south in Ontario County so I have had to inspect it in times passed.) I leave it to you to check your source and see if there might have been a typographical error somewhere along the way.
