Removing assumptions [24 May 2017]

Bridget must have died in childbirth. She died 21 Sept 1763 and her last child was born: Jerusha-b.20 Sept 1763.

We assume Bridge died because her husband remarried in 1764. It is pure assumption to assign a specific date, especially when that assumption is based on an incorrect birth date for Jerusha.

She must have been abt 34 years of age.There is a 25 year age difference between Bridget and Jonathan-1. When a wife died at a young age the husband, if having small children, would find someone to take care of his children. To make it legal, they would marry.

We have no facts that suggest what her age was, it is all assumption. The "age difference" is a remnant of matching Bridge with the wrong Jonathan Powers. Thus the situation being described never happened. The father was in his late 30s and would be expected to remarry, and then as it happened, to have 11 more children with is second wife. --Jrich 18:38, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
