Ann Poole's parentage [23 November 2011]

Does anyone have proof or documentation that Ann Poole was the daughter of William Poole and Mary PERIAM? If she is indeed, the daughter of William and Mary, she would become another Gateway ancestor for me, along with William, Jr. and Elizabeth.--DVytca 21:52, 22 November 2011 (EST)

The case against Rev. Street's wife being Ann Pole/Poole, daughter of Sir William Pole, the antiquary, is strong and simple:

         The "Pedigree of the Family of Walrond of Bovey in the Parish of Seaton and Beer, Co. Devon", obtained from the Devon, England, Record Office, was compiled by A. J. P. Skinner of Colyton and published in the Transactions of the Devon Association in 1907 (vol. 39 pp. 264–266). Skinner quotes Sir William Pole's "Collections towards a Description of the County of Devon" on the Walronds at Bovey House, Beer, including the sentence, "Edmond Walrond is nowe lord of this land, & hath maried Ann my daughter, by whom he hath issue William, John, & others." Here is a citation posted by David Greene, FASG and publisher of TAG Donald Lines Jacobus, "John Gilbert of Taunton, Mass., and the Maternal Ancestry of Rev. Nicholas Street of Taunton, Mass., and New Haven, Conn.," TAG 27 (1951): 9-11. In the final paragraph of this article, Jacobus says: "The first wife of Rev. Nicholas Street, the mother of his children, has always been destitute of a name, even a given name, thanks to the destruction of the Taunton records. No suggestion as to her identity has yet been seen which possesses any merit."--Scot 17:02, 23 November 2011 (EST)

I'm satisfied that the Ann Pole who is Rev. Nicholas Street's wife, is Not the Ann Pole (Poole) daughter of William Pole, father of William and Elizabeth.--DVytca 18:17, 23 November 2011 (EST)
