Person talk:Andrew Lane (2)

Changes [12 April 2011]

Removed occupation wheelwright, this appears to be his son Andrew, the one who d. 1717. None of the cited sources calls him a wheelwright, both specifically saying feltmaker.

Removed birthplace of Hingham, Norfolk, England. Believe this is a data entry error by someone who probably confused it with Hingham, MA. None of the cited sources say this, and Source:Fitts, James Hill. Lane Genealogies, vol. 2, p. 1, says that people of Dorchester where father William Lane settled tended to be populated by people from Devon, Dorset, and Somerset Counties, though offering no specific statement about the Lanes.

Finally, the death record in Hingham says "Andrew Lane's son" died 1 May 1675, but I am assuming this applies to his father. Observations in Savage support this death date, and adding a son to Andrew's family is rough, so this seems the simplest explanation. All the sources seem to agree on this date. --Jrich 17:18, 12 April 2011 (EDT)
