Amelia, not a daughter of Joseph and Dinah of Holme [26 August 2023]

Amelia and Ellen were originally linked as children to Joseph and Dinah Haigh of Holme. No sources confirmed this fact and I was considering deleting them from the WR database.

However, there is an 1861 census entry in Ancestry for the following family living in Almondbury, a village not far north of Holme:

  • Sarah Haigh, wife, mar, 52, born Yorkshire, Almondbury
  • William Haigh, son, unm, 25, mechanic, born Yorkshire, Almondbury
  • Ellen Haigh, daur, unm, 22, woollen cloth burler, born Yorkshire, Almondbury
  • Amelia Haigh, daur, unm, 20, woollen cloth burler, born Yorkshire, Almondbury

This family is likely the source of Ellen and Amelia and also William who was earlier deleted from the family of Joseph and Dinah Haigh.
