Jane (Jean) Matthews was not the mother of Alexander Vance's children. She did not marry Alexander Vance until sometime during the year 1778 or later in Washington Co., VA. Please see page 1006 in "Annals of Southwest VA" by Lewis Preston Summers.--Jacie9 01:10, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
