The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson Davis Caples III of Tuscaloosa. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Baughman of Meridian, Miss., Mrs. J.D. Caples Jr. of Tuscaloosa and the late Mr. Caples.

Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Herbert Streelman of Wheaton, Ill. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maximillian Breithrupt and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Streelman.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless, mermaid-style silk gown with a corsett back.

The bride was attended by Stefanie Rebecca Gross of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Caples of Tuscaloosa; Stephanie Buck of Decatur, Ga.; Kari Wilcox of Scottsdale; Claire Magalnick of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Katy Holley of Birmingham. Flower girl was Sarah Holstrom of Rutherfordton, N.C., niece of the groom.

Paul Hamer Tucker of Cageland, S.C., served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were James Dennis Streelman of Lake in the Hills, Ill., brother of the groom; Timothy St. John of Coto De Caza, Calif.; Paul Cobs of Chicago, Ill.; Michael Christensen of Grand Rapids, Minn.; and Richard Vandermass of New York, N.Y.

His mother, Mary Lou, and father, Dennis, are from nearby Glen Rock, N.J., and his paternal grandfather and grandmother are buried in George Washington Memorial Park, adjacent to the seventh hole at Ridgewood.

“It means a lot,” Streelman said. “My dad was approached by a gentleman yesterday who said, ‘You following Streelman?’ ” When Dennis Streelman said he was Kevin’s father, Kevin said the man replied, “ ‘Yeah, I used to know this guy named Happy Streelman. We used to call him Hap, because he was always happy.’

“And that’s my dad’s father.”

Your leader after three rounds: rookie Kevin Streelman, whose parents, Dennis and Mary Lou, lived in Glen Rock before he was born, whose uncle Wendell Breithaupt once belonged to Ridgewood and whose paternal grandparents are buried in the adjacent George Washington Memorial Park (including Albert “Hap” Streelman, after whom a Midland Park field is named).
