Birthplace of Adam Dodds [20 April 2013]

Hello
I have been working on updating the place pages for southern Scottish counties and to break the monotony, from time to time, I investigate the "what links here" list for the parish.

I noticed that the primary birthplace for Adam Dodds was "Sillushax" in Roxburghshire which wasn't in the Gazetteer of Scotland, one of my favourite sources. Without inspecting the original I would think the real word is Lilliesleaf, your second choice. Lilliesleaf is close to the border with Selkirkshire and I notice the family had birthplaces in both counties. You might investigate [The FreeCen Project] to see what their transcription of the 1851 and 1861 censuses came up with. And, if you want to spend money, there is always Scottish People. --goldenoldie 02:47, 18 April 2013 (EDT)

I checked FreeCen, which gives Lilliesleaf. I am not going to pay Scotland's People for this one, as Adam is not closely related to me.--Werebear 07:44, 20 April 2013 (EDT)
BTW, I added this page by hand in the early days of my experience with Werelate, when I was still feeling my way around the source-recording structure here. I guess at some point, I may go back and add piece numbers, and whether I was getting the information from a transcript, and so on, but I am working on other things at the moment.--Werebear 08:54, 20 April 2013 (EDT)

Glad to help. --goldenoldie 15:35, 20 April 2013 (EDT)
