Right mother? [6 May 2022]

Hi. He was born before Joel married Martha, and his mother's name is given as Patty. Was he the son of an earlier wife of Joel?--DataAnalyst 14:29, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

Patty is a nickname for Martha, so that doesn't appear to be significant. Additionally the family register includes him with other children suggesting they all have the same mother. Petersham record does say 1806, also copy.

Gravestone says 1807, but even if you assume that, it is less than a month after the marriage. Age at death appears to suggest 1807 is correct. I would say marriage is in a different town and that could be an issue, but there is an intention in Petersham that is 1807, so marriage appears correct. Buth gravestone and death record, of course, were not contemporary with birth, so tend to be less authoritative about the birth. --Jrich 14:51, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
