I doubt that she called Hasmilton is from the Netherlands, the only possibility is, she could be widowed and been married to a man called Hamilton.--Klaas (Ekjansen) 09:21, 30 May 2012 (EDT)

I agree. But if they emigrated in 1852 and married the same year, any earlier marriage for her had to be in the Netherlands. I think it's more likely to be an Americanization of her birth name.

(I was hoping to see a Netherlands marriage once the correct name "Leendert Venneman" was identified; if they both married and emigrated in 1852, it would be much more likely to marry in Netherlands. But GENLIAS knows no such marriage.)
