Zopher Dunning born at Bangor, Maine, was an early settler, coming to California in 1848. Worked as miner until about 1870 when he managed a hotel in Marysville, then later bought a ranch nearby. Married Sarah Hawthorn. Six children.

Cataland, daughter of McPherson, Orange County, age 37; Florence R. Hastings, daughter of Yuba County, age 34; Iola T. Dunning, daughter of Yuba County, age 33; Halsey H. Dunning; son of Paicines, San Bernadino County, age 29; Louis A. Dunning, son of Yuba County, age 27; Abbie P. Casey, daughter of Yuba County, age 25; and requests administration be granted to her. Granted 21 Jan 1899.
