- ↑ There are two marriages for Zipporah Ellis in Dedham Records, p. 75: "Ebenezer Battelle & Zipporah Ellis, both of Dedham, May 26, 1747", and "Mr. Timothy Colbourn & Mrs. Ziporah Ellis, both of Dedham, June 3'thd, 1747". Contrary to The Lewis Family cited above, Source:Stearns, Ezra S. History of Ashburnham, Massachusetts, p. 689, says that it was the widow of Aaron Ellis that married Timothy Colburn, undoubtedly fooled by the "Mrs.", which he apparently thought meant she was a married women. However, in the mid-1700s, Mrs. was often used for umarried women. Regardless, that Stearns was wrong is shown by listing the children of Timothy and Zipporah, found in the Dedham records: Catherine 1747, Hannah 1748, Timothy 1761, Sarah 1764, George 1767, and probably others not recorded. It is very unlikely Zipporah (Lewis) Ellis was Timothy's wife, having children when almost 60. Further support comes from the age at death of Zipporah Richards, which matches the birth of Zipporah Lewis very well. No death record for Zipporah Colburn has been located.
