    Miss Zia Zinn, 76, emeritus professor of English at Milton College, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Aug. 26, in Eagle River hospital.
    Miss Zinn was attending the fifth annual Baroque Music Festival being held at Eagle River when she was taken ill. Death was due to cardiac failure.
    A memorial service was to be held today, Thursday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m. in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, the Rev. Earl Cruzan officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in Farina, Ill.
    Miss Zinn, daughter of Thomas and Mary Langworthy Zinn was born July 12, 1893 at Farina, Ill. She attended local schools in Illinois, received her bachelor of arts degree from Milton College in 1916 and her master of arts from the University of Wisconsin in 1924.
    Prior to coming to Milton she was an instructor at the University of Wisconsin Extension, the Milwaukee Teachers College and Eastern Illinois College. In 1932 she spent a year of study in Oxford and London, England for her thesis on 'Eighteenth Century English Novels', for her doctorate which she received in 1935. She was a professor of English at Milton College from 1920-23, 1946-59, 1960-61 and 1963 to 1964 when she retired.
    Miss Zinn was the recipient of the annual 'Pillar of Milton' award in June, 1960. Dr. Zinn was commended for her deep interest and service to her alma mater, for her wise guidance and counsel when she served as Dean of Women and for her interest in Great Books.
    Surviving are two sisters. Miss Flora Zinn of Milton, and Mrs. Leman (Ruth) Stringer, in Arizona. Other local relatives include J. Paul Green, Ralph Green, Mrs. Russell Maxson and Mrs. Walter Hudson, nieces and nephews.
