He was born on May 27, 1947 in Tacoma, Washington, to Worrell and Jean (Petersen) Richter. He graduated from high school in Kimball, Nebraska, and married his high school sweetheart, Laura Griffith on August 20, 1965, in Sterling, Colorado.

    Worrell worked in oil fields in Nebraska and Colorado for about 20 years. He owned and operated a tool rental store on Whidbey Island, Washington. He moved to Bend in May, 2002.

    He was very active in the Republican Party. He was a member of the Christian Life Center in Bend. He loved piloting, golfing and fishing, but his family was always number one.

    He is survived by his wife Laura Richter of Bend; father and step-mother Worrell and Emma Jean Richter of Maple Valley, WA; two sons, Brett of Langley, WA and Scott of Orting, WA; daughter Andrea Porter of Bend; brother Dennis of Kirkland, WA; four sisters, Pam Wakefield of Bonney Lake, WA; Misty Beck of Inglewood, CA; and Maria Strickland and Valerie Moceri of Auburn, WA; and grandchildren Chelsey and Paige Richter, David and Rebekah Porter, and Taeya and Griffith Richter. He is also survived and loved by Griff and Wanda. He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister Sami.

    A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Christian Life Center, Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to your local hospice or to Caring for Troops.
