William Wright was a man of more than ordinary ability, he acquired a good education and for several years taught school, he was out in the war of 1812, and commanded a regiment from Kentucky. In 1854, he represented his County in the Legislature; he never sought office; he moved to the place now owned by his son William, in 1814, the year of his marriage, and remained on the same up to his death.
