[edit] Revolutionary War Pension InformationInformation from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 6, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. : Worthington, William - born 5/1/1761 in Berkeley County, Virginia; entered service 1781 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he resided, in Pennsylvania regiment; made POW by Indians who delivered him to British who took him to Canada where he escaped; resided after Revolutionary War in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, thence in 1786 to Virginia on Green River (area later Daviess County, Kentucky) for 12-13 years, thence to Logan County, Kentucky, where granted Pension in 1833, resided in Muhlenburg County, Kentucky; Anthony Thompson made affidavit 1832 in Daviess County, Kentucky, age 73 that he served in same Virginia Regiment with soldier; query letter in file says soldier resided 1840 in Kenton County, Kentucky at home of William Worthington (no kinship given).
