William¹ Williams was born about 1623 according to Barbour's sketch in Hartford Fams. (p. 682), which provides no documentation. As "Goodman Williams," he was buried at Hartford on 17 December 1689 ("List of Interments by Wm Goodwin … Commencing 1689," Bulletin of the Connecticut Historical Society 3[Nov. 1936]:3. … The date is consistent with Williams's probate records at Hartford, showing that he died between 4 February 1687[/8] and 3 January 1689[/90], the dates of his will and inventory (Manwaring 1:521-22).
