    "6. William3 Ward (Thomas2, William1) was born 14 April 1687, died 28 March 1761; married 18 Jan. 1710/11 Mary Harris, … daughter of Daniel and Abigail (Barnes) Harris. In William's will, dated 12 Dec. 1760, probated 4 May 1761, he provided for his unnamed wife; gave land and a dwelling house to his son William; gave the home lot, house and saw mill to son Joseph; gave land and cash to daughters Patience Plumb and Abigail Galpin; cash to Recompense Elton, Ebenezer Elton, Bradley Elton 'and the rest of the children of my daughter Anna, dec'd'; to grandson James Galpin 'the pistol that was his uncle James' '; and to son James, 'who hath long been missing … and yet should he return home' an equal portion with the rest of the children. Executors were to be sons William and Joseph; witnesses: Jabez Hamlin, Malachi Lewis, Thomas Ward, Christopher Hamlin and Esther Arnold (Middletown Probate 2:112)."
