Facts and Events
William Waddington was an electrician and worked for a number of employers. He worked for some years on the NW Coast of Tasmania at Burnie Paper Mills, He later moved to Montagu Bay in Hobart to work at the Electrolytic Zincworks, (later known as Zinifex and other names). After his wife died and he retired he suffered from alcoholism and spent some time in a Salvation Army hostel. He is still believed to be in an aged persons home in the Devonport area near his daughter Cynthia. (2007). It is uncertain that William was a full brother of his siblings listed. No record has been found of his birth to Albert Edward Waddington and Harriett Brewer. He was certainly raised as a child of the family from an early age. References
