[edit] ObituaryPublished by The Times Reporter from Feb. 27 to Feb. 28, 2010. William E. "Bud" Torgler Sr., age 81, of Canton passed away Friday afternoon. Born in Goshen, O., to the late William A. and Olga (Zauke) Torgler, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary (Ferrero) Torgler. A graduate of Midvale High School, he attended Otterbein College and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Bud retired from Republic Steel Company after 36 years of service having worked as a foreman. He was a member of the Masons' and Canton Moose. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, William E. Jr. and Cathy Torgler of North Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Dennis Hoffner of Canton; grandchildren Aliyah, Ariel, Naomi; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herb and Helene Torgler of Dundee, Rich and Marilyn Torgler of Dover; and sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Gene Baab of Stone Creek, O. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home at Canton and Tuesday morning one hour before services. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Edd Matako officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
