Cook, Charles Haquard, Henry Hallback, Jacob Hock, William McMullen and Milton G. Peters were the Corporals.

He appeared in the census in August 1850 in Washington, Scioto, OH.30787 In July 1860 he was a farmer in Washington, Scioto, OH.1486 William served in the military between 1861 and 1865.18436 He served in Company I, 140th O.V.I, In June 1870 he was a farmer in Nile Twp., Scioto, OH.18434 In June 1900 he was a laborer in Washington, Scioto, OH.90509 Enumerated in the household of his daughter Cornelia and her family. William appeared in the census in April 1910 in Portsmouth, Scioto, OH.54504 Enumerated with his daughter Cornelia's family. He appeared in the census in January 1920 in Wayne Twp., Scioto, OH.27577 He died on 9 April 1920 at the age of 83 in Scioto Co., OH.120637 His obituary was passed along by Carrie Turner, <[email protected]>, and reads as follows:

    William Temple, Civil War Veteran, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clay Seeley, 1303 Franklin Ave, at 7:15 yesterday evening after six months illness, during which he suffered with a facial cancer. Mr Temple was born in Fairview, Belmont County, Virginia, Sept.24,1836. He was a member of the Co.1 140th O.V.I., serving throughout the Civil War. His wife preceded him to the grave 30 yrs ago, was, before her marriage Elizabeth Burt of this city.
    For the past 25 yrs, Mr Temple had made his home with Mrs Seeley, who alone survives him. The funeral will be held from the residence, Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Reverend D.C. Boyd officiating. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr Temple was a member of Bailey Post G.A.R. was widely known in this city. A host of friends which he has made in his almost life long residence in this city, mourn his death, a true friend, a kind father and an American patriot and gentleman. He was honest as the day is long and truly a good citizen has been called to his Heavenly home. William has reference number RLT # U2144.3084 His parents were both from OH in 1920, but both from PA otherwise. Parents: James TEMPLE-21621 and Lydia EVANS-21622.
