Mr. Forbes' mother, Elizabeth Higgins, was born in Bedford Co., Penn., Aug. 12, 1790; in 1808, she married William Stevens ; they had three daughters; in 1814, they removed to Ohio, in- tending to settle in Licking Co.; when within one days' travel of their destination, a terrific storm overtook them ; a tree was blown across the wagon, killing the husband and father, and leaving the mother with three helpless children
