William Henry Spaeth, 80, who established the Spaeth Transfer Co. in Bremerton more than 50 years ago, died in Harrison Memorial Hospital this morning. Mr. Spaeth had been in poor health since suffering a stroke in January and was retired. He moved to Bremerton with his wife, Katherine after their marriage in 1907. Mrs. Spaeth died May 13,1961. They resided at 818 Chester Ave. Mr. Spaeth was born July 24,1883 in Berlin, Wis. He was a life member of Eagles Aerie 192 and belonged to Teamsters and Chauffers Union LOcal 672. He was a member of the Star of the Sea Catholic Church, where requiem mass will be said 9.30 a.m. Monday followed be interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Rosary service will be at Miller-Reynolds Funeral Home at 8 p.m. Sunday. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Harry Irwin, Mrs. Anthony Pirog and Mrs. Robert Hamlin of Bremerton, and Mrs. James McGuire of Long Island,N.Y.; two sisters Mrs. Bruno Grotz of Ashland,Wis, and Mrs. Edith Moore of Shelton; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
