    Topeka Daily Capital, December 5, 1903:

    William Smith was kicked by Horse and Died from the Injury - Funeral Sunday.

    While hitching his horse to a wagon about 9 o'clock Thursday morning, William Smith of Seabrook, was kicked by the animal and sustained internal injuries from which he died at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Mr. Smith had been butchering and it is supposed that the horse became frightened at the smell of blood.

    Mr. Smith was 45 years of age and leaves a wife. The funeral will be held from the home in Seabrook at noon Sunday. Interment will be made in the Foster Cemetery.
