According to a letter from Henry Robinson to Trudy Rhoton in 1955, William D. Sharp was "quite a character". He became wealthy before his death in California. When he was younger he went to Canada, somehow became connected with the English army, and was sent overseas. When he tried to get back into the U.S. he needed Henry S. Robinson's help in finding his birth records and prove that he was born in this country.
